It is essential that the laser operation is performed by an experienced surgeon using advanced technology. This is not only important for the operation, but also for the whole treatment process. The treatment process is composed of examinations and the operation. It is very important that all examinations are performed by the same surgeon. An individualized pre-examination is an important prerequisite for a successful operation. You do not need to undergo a pre-examination in your own country. Even if you undergo a pre-examination in your country, Leyla Kandur, M.D. will perform her own detailed pre-examination. You should inform us about your diopter values and age with the communication form found in our web site. Subsequently, we will give you detailed information about your eligibility for surgery. Do not wear soft contact lenses at least one week before the operation, and do not wear hard lenses at least four weeks before the operation. Do not put on eye make up for two days before laser treatment, and do not use face makeup or oinments on the day of operation. It is not recommended to use after-shave or parfume on the day of operation. Before the operation a detailed pre-examination is performed. The pre-examination consists of two stages. After the first stage, a special eye drop is put in your eyes. These eyedrops are used to dilate your pupils. Various examinations and measurements are performed: Diopter values, intraocular pressure, biomicroscopy, retina examination, Pentacam Cornea topography, size of the pupils, the status of the cornea and corneal thickness. Leyla Kandur, M.D. will answer your questions in detail during the pre-examination. After the pre-examination Dr. Kandur will decide the best treatment method for your eyes and inform you about this. If any risk in terms of laser treatment is found during the pre-examination, you will be informed about this. Because we give individualized healthcare service, the advantages and disadvantages of laser treatment will be explained.

The operation will take place three hours after the pre-examination at the earliest. Since your pupils will be dilated with eye drops during the pre-examination, we have to wait until your pupils get small. We recommend that you do not consume too much caffeine-containing drinks including coffee, tea and soda on the day of operation. In addition, we advise you to eat a light meal before the operation and to wear casual clothing.
